The Keenan McKenzie Jazz Band is composed of some of the greatest new talent in North Carolina. Each member has formal musical training and unique experience in genres such as blues, rock and roll, folk, funk, hip hop, and more. These individuals have previously performed with artists such as Delfeayo Marsalis and appeared venues like the House of Blues in New Orleans. As experts in an art form based largely in improvisation, the group is highly versatile and can adapt to fit almost any situation. The group specializes in classic jazz, and plays recognizable and accessible melodies from composers like Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, and Gershwin.
