Born in upstate New York and raised in rural Clayton, North Carolina, Kennedy Fitzsimmons grew up with a variety of musical influences. She learned to sing at an early age thanks to her parents who are both performing singers. The musical tradition in her family also extends to her grandfather, who taught her to play guitar, and many other relatives who are professional musicians. Because of this, Kennedy learned to love many genres of music including Country, Bluegrass, Rock, and Blues. She began incorporating these influences into her own original music when she started writing songs at the age of ten. Over the years Kennedy has built up an impressive performance resume including bars, clubs, festivals, and even guest performances with major country acts.
