Rob Williams

Acoustic, Rock

Regardless of whether or not you’re familiar with his songs, Richmond, VA’s Rob Williams has a way of captivating you with just one. There’s nothing passive about the listening experience with his live nor recorded music; it’s downright mesmerizing. As the former frontman and founding member of popular bands Joe Buck, Jr. and Contoocook Line, which also featured Pavement drummer Steve West, Rob Williams has released four studio albums during his long career. In May 2013, Williams will independently release his first solo album, A Place in the Sun. “At its core, A Place in the Sun is an acoustic project complemented by a full band,” he says. “The new songs range from simple ballads with pedal steel guitar to rock songs with layers of guitar and horns.” For lovers of alt-rock, alt-country and Americana, as well as fans of artists like Paul Westerberg, The Old 97’s, and Paul Kelly, singer/songwriter Rob Williams will make for a favorite discovery.
