SAWBERG JAZZ was born in Durham in 1993. Originally a duo, we are now a sextet. Our repertoire is classic jazz with transcultural (Latin, African, European) elements in the harmonies and grooves. Our arrangements include vocals and instrumentals, and our improvisational style is best described as conversational and/or polyphonic. We are Susan Cohen (vocals), Louis Sawyer (saxophone), David Shore (drums), Roger Cook (bass), Rick Keena (guitar), and Mike Curren (percussion).
