Based in Chapel Hill, NC, Emmerman – Sawyer is a jazz – rock band featuring Louis Sawyer’s smooth saxophone which is sometimes reminiscent of Paul Desmond, other times sounding similar to the interpretive style of Wayne Shorter and Scott Emmerman whose fluid guitar playing adds funky atmospherics and spirited solo work to the collective sound of the band.
