The 8:59’s, a newly-formed Chatham County, NC based band, seamlessly blend Americana and indie rock sensibilities to create a unique yet familiar sound. Based around strong songwriting, tasteful harmonies, twin electric guitars and a driving rhythm section, The 8:59’s serve up some of the best of what you might hope for from 4 Triangle guys with a guitar-bass-drums set-up. Echoes of Nashville, Athens, and Chapel Hill, as well as classic rock and blues, can be heard in the band’s songs. Poppy, strummy, punky, gritty, rockin’… earnest, melodic, soulful, pensive, lush…call it what you want and take from it what you like.
