Turntable Graveyard

Rock, Pop/Rock

“I’m the turntable repair guy for All Day Records in Carrboro. I keep a pile of scrap units for spare parts, that’s ‘the turntable graveyard.’ The name seemed to fit what we’re trying to do musically, which is to get the ghosts of rock rattling their chains.”

“We try to meld classic 70s rock and pop sounds with the coolest stuff from the last couple decades. We really like how Wilco rocks like the Replacements one minute and Bowie’s Spiders From Mars the next, or how American Music Club can sound melodically like Nilsson, or how Beta Band grooves like early Pink Floyd. We love the kind of music that sounds fresh and familiar and sticks with you. That’s what we want to create.”
